Achieving Recognition with The Guild of Photographers: My First Competition Results
Mid-2024, I...
When a sighthound settles into their natural stance, there's an effortless grace that catches your eye. I spent last few months photographing these remarkable dogs across Cambridgeshire, capturing moments that show exactly who they are.
From retired racers to young whippets and elegant salukis, each session brought something different. Some dogs stretched out in the sun. Others explored the location and made the most of their adventure. A few simply plodded close to their owners, completely at ease.
The Guild of Photographers awarded three of these portraits submitted as part of their "Image of the Month" competition - two silver and one bronze. While the recognition is wonderful, what matters most is how these images reflect the dogs' true personalities.
These sessions aimed to do more than create memories through photography. Thanks to our wonderful sighthound community, together we raised more than £200 for sighthound related charities. It's proof that great things happen when dog lovers come together.
Every sighthound has habits that make their family smile - from the way they curl up on the sofa to their excited greeting when you come home. These are the moments worth capturing. Let's create portraits that show your dog exactly as they are.
